#45 ... WHO ELSE?

I've been watching the Trump crazy train for the last month and have not written anything because there is SO MUCH unbelievable bullshit to write about I just didn't know where to start.  A lot has been percolating in my little brain but today, TODAY was the day that motivated me to write.  This Insane Clown President (thank you Matt Taibbi ... if you haven't read his book you should) finally crossed over the line for me.  Banning the press from attending a closed-door briefing Friday afternoon with press secretary Sean Spicer was the straw that broke the camel's back for me.  The New York Times, CNN and The Huffington Post were banned from attending.  The Associated Press and Time Magazine, which were "allowed" to enter, but boycotted out of solidarity with those news organizations ... good for them.

The First Amendment and the Freedom of the Press is at stake.  Trump apparently thinks that he can decide who can report on him and what they can report .... do you know what this is called?  It is called UN-AMERICAN.  It is the first step toward some other type of government.  We have entered the Twilight Zone, some other world than the United States as we know it.  There are those Trump supporters who will laugh at my comment, but it is deadly serious.

The first thing dictators do is denounce the press.  They rid their countries of the intelligentsia so that the masses are not informed, influenced or encouraged to think.  This is what Trump is attempting to do.  To filter the news that is brought to the people.  His repetitive use of the phrase FAKE NEWS is a mantra that he is repeating over and over again until it becomes true.  This repetitive lying is taken straight out of Mein Kampf by Adolph Hitler.

It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying.

I honestly don't know what to make of what is being allowed to happen in the White House.  The Republicans do not seem to have any kind of spine when it comes to Trump and most of them know is completely out of his mind.  I keep wondering what they are waiting for?  John McCain and Lindsay Graham seem to be the only two who have not drunk the Kool-Aide and are unafraid to speak out.  But the rest of them are a bunch of spineless fraidy-cats.  This group of men who were so anti-Obama they signed a pledge to fight against EVERYTHING OBAMA and dug their heels in for eight years with a BIG FAT NO can do nothing to reign in a certifiably mentally ill man who is sitting in the Oval Office.

I keep going back and forth wondering if Congress will hold him to account.  And when.  He doesn't have limitless powers as he found out with regard to his "ban" for which the court promptly ruled against him.  And it seems that more and more of the GOP voters are questioning their vote.  Many are very worried about losing their Obamacare and let's face it, once repealed they have nothing to replace it with.

This administration gets more and more bizarre.  The lying, the duplicity, the denial and delusion.  Time will tell what becomes of #45.  I only hope there isn't an international incident.

Just today he said "no one realized how complicated health care is."  REALLY?  No one?  Shouldn't you have studied this PRIOR to becoming president?  Shouldn't you have come up with a plan?  A president who is "winging it" makes me feel as though we're in a car heading straight for a cliff and we have no breaks.

Tomorrow he will address Congress for the first time.  This should be very interesting.  I wonder if he's learned any new words to use other than 'disaster,' 'yuuuuuuge' and 'bigly.'
